| The country has
a two party system and the Present Government won the elections in 2008
by a 20 to 10 seat majority. The Upper house, which is the Senate, comprises
of 21 members. The people The global population of Barbadians number 343,301 persons with 259,450 living in Barbados consisting of 95% black, 4% mixed and 1% white. It boasts of its people having a 98% literacy rate one of the best in the world. They have a very pleasant disposition and are also courteous, friendly and helpful. The people are religious as can been seen by the numbers that attend the churches. |
